Air Astana, the award-winning national airline of Kazakhstan, is adjusting the departure times of its service from Amsterdam to the western Kazakh city of Atyrau. This will also benefit passengers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as the flights from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport can be reached more conveniently by connecting flights, train or car thanks to the new departure times. Also, the flights arrive at their destination in the evening of the same day.
Air Astana flies every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from Amsterdam to Atyrau. Departure from Amsterdam is at 11:35 am. After six hours of flight, passengers land in Atyrau at 8:35 pm local time. Air Astana operates modern Airbus A321s on this route.
The return flight to Amsterdam is on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the early morning. Depending on the day of the flight, departure time from Atyrau is between 4:15 and 5:40 am. The flight time on this route is 6:40 hours with arriving in Amsterdam between 7:55 and 9:20 am.
„We are delighted with the adjustment of flight times, which come very convenient for many of our passengers between Amsterdam and Atyrau,” says Susith Hettihewa, Air Astana’s Senior Regional Manager EU Central & East, Turkey. „Atyrau is located far to the west of Kazakhstan. Thanks to the large oil reserves and other mineral resources in the region, the city plays an important role, especially in business travel.”
The city of Atyrau is located in the region of the same name on the Ural River and only a few kilometres from the Caspian Sea. The Ural also forms the geographical border between Europe and Asia, so that one part of Atyrau is located in Europe and the other part in Asia. The port of Atyrau is one of the most important in the country.
