#1 Poets’ Festival in Erlangen (29 August to 1 September)

For those who decide at the last minute, the Erlangen Poets’ Festival is just around the corner on Thursday, August 29. Founded in 1980, the literary festival features some 80 events with writers, journalists, and literary critics on the topic of contemporary literature – your prelude to the Fall of Books!

There is also an open-air festival this weekend at the Luitpoldpark in Bad Kissingen. Anyone born before 1990 should be familiar with the acts performing there. They include Ronan Keating (Aug. 29), Santiano (Aug. 30), and The Boss Hoss (Sept. 1). On Saturday, Aug. 31, there will be a „90s Super Show” featuring all the hits played on radio and TV at the time: Captain Jack, Loona, Rednex, Aquagen, and many more.

#4 Warpe Arts and Crafts Market (September 21)

On Saturday, September 21, there will be a hobby and craft fair with homemade cakes and „garden art” such as flower arrangements and bed plugs.

#5 Alpine cattle drive and rural culture in the Tyrolean Alpbachtal (September 21 and 28)

On the last two weekends of September, Reith im Alpbachtal hosts one of the largest cattle drives in Tyrol. The time when the cows return to the valley for the winter is traditionally accompanied by a large folk festival and attracts visitors from all over the world. You will see colorfully decorated cows, music groups in traditional costumes and festive dances, alphorn players, and whip crackers. There is also a craft market and Tyrolean delicacies.

#6 YOUNIQUE Fall Festival in Seefeld (October 5)

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the Hotel Klosterbräu in Seefeld will host an Autumn Festival. The day starts with a hike to the Reitherjochalm followed by a gala evening with live music and a show program in the garden. The hotel bar will be open for dancing and party music.

#7 Musical LUDWIG² in Füssen (Performances 4 Times a Week)

August 25, was the birthday of Ludwig II, born 178 years ago. The musical about the life of the Bavarian „fairy tale king”, who commissioned the building of Neuschwanstein Castle, is the perfect cultural accompaniment for a weekend in the Allgäu region. It will be performed at the Festspielhaus Füssen.
