Cycling is often defined by the jerseys of its most iconic teams, and among the most memorable of the 1970s is undoubtedly that of the Brooklyn Cycling Team. Thanks to the partnership between Santini Cycling and Brooklyn, this historic jersey is brought back to life in an exclusive collection inspired by the magical atmosphere of vintage cycling.
The new Santini x Brooklyn line will debut at L’Eroica Gaiole (where else?), during the first weekend of October. Making the presentation even more special will be the presence of a cycling legend: Roger De Vlaeminck, the unforgettable champion who, wearing the Brooklyn jersey, wrote some of the most thrilling chapters in the history of the Northern Classics, and beyond.
“For us at Santini, this collaboration with Brooklyn is much more than just a collection: it is a tribute to an era that shaped the history of cycling and continues to inspire generations of enthusiasts,” says Paola Santini, Marketing Manager at Santini Cycling. “With the Santini x Brooklyn line we want to bring back the energy, the colors, and the charisma of the Brooklyn Cycling Team and its jersey.”
Wearing this jersey, the Flemish champion Roger De Vlaeminck won, between 1973 and 1977, several Monument Classics such as Milan–Sanremo, two editions of the Giro di Lombardia, the Tour of Flanders, and three of the four Paris–Roubaix of his career (earning him the nickname Monsieur Roubaix), victories that represent the highlights of a career filled with extraordinary achievements.
Cycling fans are therefore invited to Gaiole in Chianti, during L’Eroica, to discover the Santini x Brooklyn collection and relive the magic of cycling’s golden age together with one of its most beloved champions.
