| This winter brings other exciting new features. Starting from Black Friday on 29 November, the annual subscription to Monte Generoso will be available with a 20% discount – only Fr. 183,00. An unmissable opportunity to enjoy Monte Generoso without limits.
During the opening weekend, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December, the discount on winter fares will be 50%: only 27 francs for adults and 13,50 francs for youths up to 15 years old.
Additionally, those who take the train departing at 10:15 a.m. from Capolago on Sunday 8 December will be greeted by Saint Nicholas, ready to distribute sweets and pose for souvenir photos at the most panoramic peak of Ticino. At the summit, there will also be delicious roasted chestnuts and mulled wine.
„We thus enter the atmosphere of the most beautiful celebration of the year for everyone, but especially for children,” says Chiara Brischetto, Head of Marketing, Communication & Sustainability at FMG. „We have launched the ’Piccoli Artisti Cercasi” (Little Artists Wanted) contest: from 8 to 31 December 2024, participants can draw the Fiore di pietra with a Christmas theme, and the most original drawing will become the Monte Generoso Christmas card for 2025.”
From 21 December to 6 January, the Ferrovia Monte Generoso will be open every day with four departures from Capolago. Hikers can enjoy walks along the trails, visit the small church, and relax at the Fiore di pietra self-service or at the Buffet Bellavista, renowned for its traditional cuisine and cosy atmosphere.
Hikers will discover the new signage „conVivere il Generoso.” An initiative promoted by the Associazione dei Comuni del Generoso to enhance the natural beauty of the area and promote greater collaboration and connection between visitors and local farmers.
Moreover, Monte Generoso offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Christmasparty with colleagues and friends. The restaurant at Fiore di pietra and the Buffet Bellavista can be exclusively booked for company lunches or dinners, creating a unique atmosphere to share special moments. Attending the evening events dedicated to Raclette and Chinoise adds a touch of Tessin culinary tradition that will surely make the experience even more memorable.
