FlyArystan, Kazakhstan’s low-cost airline, today celebrates its fifth anniversary. Founded in 2019, FlyArystan, has been operating for five years on the classic low-cost model, connecting the regions of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries and providing an opportunity for low-fare travel.
FlyArystan’s first flights were successfully operated in May 2019 from Almaty to Astana, Karaganda and Uralsk, since then the air carrier has expanded its route network to 14 domestic destinations in Kazakhstan, as well as flights to Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, India, China, UAE and Qatar.
As of 2019, FlyArystan’s fleet continues to expand. Over 5 years, the low-cost carrier’s fleet has grown from 4 to 20 Airbus A320 aircraft, 9 of which are the newest NEO aircraft with 188 seats. These aircrafts were delivered directly from the Airbus manufacturer’s factory and according to the airline’s tradition, each airplane is named by passengers in honor of constellations.

FlyArystan is the only low-cost airline in Kazakhstan, and has achieved some amazing milestones. The airline has provided over 50% of all tickets to domestic destinations at a cost of less than 17,000 tenge. FlyArystan has carried over 12 million passengers in our 5 years of operations, over 10% of whom had never flown on an airplane before. This fact means that every tenth passenger shared his/her first flight with FlyArystan.

Over the last 5 years, FlyArystan has been a rapid innovator and has invested heavily in changing the travel experience from traditional approaches. In 2022, FlyArystan introduced “iJan” – self-service terminals, enabling passengers to independently check-in for the flight and self-tag their baggage. Currently, the terminals are available in the 13 cities in Kazakhstan where FlyArystan operates. Since the launch of iJan, more than 300 thousand passengers have already used the service, significantly reducing the time passengers spend at the airport.

Another significant milestone in 2022 was the recognition by Skytrax of FlyArystan’s service levels. Skytrax awarded FlyArystan as a 4-star airline, one of only 12 low-cost carriers in the world with a 4-star rating. Further, in 2023, FlyArystan was awarded as the „Best Low-Cost Carrier in Central Asia and CIS” by Skytrax.

In 2024, the airline received its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK), which is the result of an in-depth audit and analysis by AAK and confirms FlyArystan’s compliance with both Kazakhstan aviation legislation and international operational standards.

FlyArystan is actively engaged in corporate social responsibility projects and actively supports those in need. For example, one of the airline’s large-scale projects is the “Komek” project, which allows certain categories of people to purchase discounted air tickets. The air carrier also takes an active part in other social projects – one of the significant projects in the direction of corporate social responsibility was a joint project with the State Forestry Organization „Semey Ormany” aimed at restoring the forest in the Abay region after the devastating fires in the summer of 2023 with FlyArystan providing free flights to the families of the victims. Continuing to focus its efforts on charitable and social initiatives FlyArystan cooperated with public organizations „Asarume”, „Man in Mask”, „Sebepker Bol” providing support with free flights and organizing events. FlyArystan is also the official air carrier of HC „Saryarka”.

On this significant day, FlyArystan celebrates not only the large-scale development of the airline, but also the happy moments enjoyed by passengers. From low fares and easy check-in to a welcoming onboard experience. From the very beginning of its operations, the airline has been striving to make its passengers happy by making travel affordable and comfortable.
