Aix-en-Provence – Avril 2025 – Some places don’t just belong to a
city, but to its very soul. The Hôtel Saint-Christophe, , a discreet yet
iconic institution in Aix-en-Provence, is set to reopen in the summer
of 2025 after a complete transformation. Just steps from the Cours
Mirabeau, this legendary address unveils a new identity-more
contemporary, more inspired, yet still deeply rooted in its Provençal
soul.
Conceived as an urban bastide, Saint Christophe reimagines
hospitality with a strong concept: « the countryside in the city ».
Raw materials, natural tones, soft lighting, and clean lines invite rest
and escape – right in the heart of a vibrant, living city.
A reinvention by Groupe Dimacco
This ambitious project is led by Groupe Dimacco, already known for its talent in reviving exceptional places.
« Reopening Hôtel Saint Christophe is more than a hotel project—it’s about breathing new life into a historic landmark, infusing it with a fresh spirit without betraying its essence. We wanted to create a unique place, deeply anchored in Aix’s heritage while embracing sincere, sensitive, and modern hospitality » – Celine Germain, General Manager of Hôtel Saint-Christophe
To bring this vision to life, the group partnered with Architecture 54, delivering a renovation that is both respectful and poetic. > Architecture file here
Each space is designed to converse with the city, the light, and the memory of the place. The result: an elegant, calming atmosphere that merges tradition with a forward-looking spirit.
61 rooms in the colors of Provence
The hotel now features 61 rooms, spread across several floors—each inspired by the palette of master painter Paul Cézanne :
- Cobalt blue, for the radiant sky
- Yellow ochre, like the earthy hillsides
- Emerald green, a nod to the garrigue
- Burnt sienna, warm and enveloping
From Single Rooms to Junior Suites with lounges, each category strikes a subtle balance between minimalist design and local refinement. With natural stone bathrooms, crafted lighting, and streamlined furnishings, the rooms are serene and elegant havens. Comfort is discreet, while the essence of Provence is ever-present.
Aix-en-Provence as a living backdrop
City of art and water, Aix-en-Provence reveals itself like never before. From the hotel, stroll to the Cours Mirabeau, lined with century-old plane trees, step into an artist’s studio or a museum. The Granet Museum, home to Cézanne’s masterpieces, is just a short walk away. Further afield, Thermes Sextius offers a wellness retreat, while Montagne Sainte-Victoire, Cézanne’s
muse, invites quiet contemplation.
The markets buzz with color and scent, fountains whisper stories, and
summer evenings open onto theater performances or a chilled glass of
rosé. Hôtel Saint Christophe becomes the perfect balance between the
city’s energy and the gentle rhythm of Provence.
Brasserie Léopold : the return of a local institution
Another highlight of this revival: the return of Brasserie Léopold, a
beloved Aix establishment. Reimagined without losing its original spirit,
the brasserie shines again beneath a sunlit glass roof, with a menu that
refines French brasserie classics.
Whether indoors or on the terrace, the Provençal art de vivre is in full
swing: local ingredients, generous plates, and attentive service.
Whether you’re a traveler or a local, it’s an invitation to slow down,
savor, and share.
