Recently, KlasJet had a hand in flying more than 1,200 guest from India to Europe for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. The wedding itself was covered by both local and national media in India, Europe, and the United States and was one of the most high-profile marriages of the 21st century. With quality and dependability of service of paramount importance, clients could not depend on normal airline service, but required VIP Air Charter service, to secure aircraft of their own to use privately for their special day. Lukas Petrauskas, Chief Commercial Officer of KlasJet, private and business jet charter service specializing in memorable flights shares how KlasJet provided its flight service for the wedding ceremonies of its clients.

For this wedding, KlasJet would use four of its aircraft and charter experience to ensure logistical needs would not interrupt and take away from a celebration of love and happiness for the clients and their guest.

“This was a massively important day for our client as any marriage involves special attention, and I’m happy we got the opportunity to ensure they received the best flight experience possible,” Petrauskas said. “This would normally be a very difficult mission for any company in the space, so it was important for us to use all of our resources to create the best experience for this wedding.”

The story of the operation began one week before wheels left the tarmac, when KlasJet’s fellow Avia Solutions Group company, Chapman Freeborn, received a request through one of its worldwide offices. Chapman Freeborn, an air charter specialist arranged for KlasJet to provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance for this flight given the distances and passenger count involved in the mission.

Operational planning

“Each uniquely modified and equipped aircraft was prepared for the mission, and selected for the customer needs,” Petrauskas said. “We spent the week preparing everything so the day of the wedding ceremonies would go as smoothly as possible.” One aircraft would remain in Europe, while the others would be used to transport passengers and cargo to and from India. Once the aircraft were ferried to Mumbai (BOM), where the flights began, they would require 46 crew members and several dozen permits.

Each takeoff and landing required coordination with airports and governments to ensure adequate permissions and flawless service the day of. Given customer needs, it was a requirement that all four aircraft arrive at the same location in Italy at around the same time. KlasJet coordinated with airports and businesses at the airports to ensure passengers would be pleasantly welcomed at the airport and continue onward to the wedding without stress of confusion arriving at an airport after an international flight.

Putting clients first

“For our customers, arriving in Genova would be a wonderful new experience, but for us, this was an opportunity to use our knowledge gained from passion and experience to fly for our clients,” Petrauskas said. “Timing for the customers was paramount to the mission, and I’m happy they called on us, so we could use our expertise to organize the logistics in a matter that they could enjoy the wedding the way the families organizing the wedding would want.”

In total, 28 flights were conducted on this mission, with passengers experiencing the best in exclusive air travel, including privacy and efficiency for their once-in-a-lifetime ceremony.
