Hope you’re well? A global study from medical travel insurance experts AllClear has revealed the cities where you’re most likely to get a good night’s sleep—without blowing your budget, and Krakow makes the global top 10 list—ranking in 6th place.
As the summer trip season approaches, millions will be gearing up for where to spend their well-earned cash—whether that’s jetting abroad for a week or two, or heading for a long weekend somewhere in Europe.
And while sleep might not be the first thing you think of when you think of going away, an emerging travel trend in 'sleep tourism’ is putting rest and recovery at the heart of the getaway.
Tapping into this growing trend, the study analysed thousands of hotel reviews in top city-break destinations to create a ‘Great Sleep Value’ Score out of 100, factoring in sleep satisfaction, cost, and volume of sleep-related mentions.
AllClear’s new research has dubbed Krakow one of the best places for a good night’s sleep—scoring 85.3 points out of a possible 100.
Other Key Stories:
- Auckland, NZ is the world’s best city for sleep tourism (score: 92.3/100), followed by Wellington (NZ) and Granada (Spain)
- Over half of the top 25 are in Europe, including Kraków, Bruges, and Bath
- London, NYC, and Dubai all feature in the worst cities for restful, affordable sleep
- The USA dominates the lowest-ranked cities for sleep value
