In just a few days, the Olympic flame will be lit once again with the opening of the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games (February 6–22) and the Paralympic Winter Games (March 6–15), taking place across Milan, Cortina, and the Dolomites.
Trentino will play a key role in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting 31% of the competitions. In total, the region will welcome 60 different races, marking a major milestone and highlighting Trentino’s long-standing commitment to hosting world-class sporting events.
Trentino—particularly Val di Fiemme—has completed preparations of the venues that will host the Nordic disciplines: cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, and ski jumping, sports deeply rooted in the region’s tradition. Trentino has already hosted three Nordic World Championships (1991, 2003, and 2013), as well as numerous World Cup races and Tour de Ski events. The Paralympic Winter Games will also feature Para Cross-Country Skiing and Para Biathlon competitions in the region.
The countdown is officially underway at the F. Canal Cross-Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero and the G. Dal Ben Ski Jumping Stadium in Predazzo, where thousands of spectators from all over the world are expected.
