A Boston-based couple used their recent home purchase to generate enough reward points to fund a luxury family vacation to the Seychelles through RBN Rewards, the real estate platform that allows buyers to earn points on property transactions.
Ngan, a registered nurse, and her husband Connor, a physician, recently relocated back to the Boston area to be closer to family following the birth of their son. After a house fire accelerated their need to purchase a new property, the couple turned an otherwise stressful life event into an opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime family trip.
Connor first discovered RBN Rewards while researching ways to “get some value back from the real estate transaction.” After signing up online, the couple were matched with a selection of vetted local agents through the RBN Rewards network before completing the purchase of their new home in Stoneham, Massachusetts.
The property purchase, valued at $1,320,000, generated 880,000 RBN Rewards Points, which the couple used to book a fully-funded luxury holiday to the Seychelles, alongside additional stopovers in Kenya and France.
Their stay included several days at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island, where they spent time biking between remote beaches, exploring the private island and visiting a tortoise sanctuary with their son. Ngan described the Seychelles as “a true paradise,” with the family’s time on Desroches Island standing out in particular.
“We felt like we were the only ones on this entire island and it truly was magnificent,” she said.
The trip also coincided with their son’s birthday, with the Four Seasons team surprising the family with a birthday cake, a moment Ngan said “he went wild” over.
Ngan said the service made an already stressful home-buying process significantly easier.
“There are thousands of real estate agents to choose from when you go on your own, but good ones are harder to find,” she said. “Having someone else, in this case RBN Rewards, do the vetting for us helped save time and helped us find an agent who excels at their job.”
The agent, on this occasion, was Guy Coltaldi, an RBN participating agent ranked among the top 2% of real estate professionals worldwide.
Ngan described the booking process through RBN Rewards as “simple,” adding that it was “straightforward, similar to booking hotels online since the rewards are valued like currency.”
RBN rewards allows buyers to earn reward points through real estate transactions, which can then be redeemed across travel, luxury experiences and lifestyle rewards. Travel fans can find more destination inspiration and family adventures on Ngan’s Instagram, @oonanathatsmyname.
