The island of Elba is confirmed to be at the center of major international nautical routes. From July 4 to 9, 2026, Portoferraio will host one of the most anticipated and spectacular stages of the sixth edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, the prestigious Giro d’Italia a Vela (Tour of Italy by Sail) organized by the Italian Navy through the delegated technical entity and linked to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

A 1,250-mile seafaring adventure that, after setting out from Venice and touching the peninsula’s most beautiful coastlines involving ten international teams in nine stages, will land in the Elban capital (arriving from Maddalena Island) before making its way to the final finish line in Genoa. A global event that will be broadcast to as many as 160 countries around the world.

The heart of the event: the Race Village at Linguella

The entire event ashore will come to life in the splendid and historic setting of Piazzale della Linguella, an area set up entirely in close cooperation with the Port Authority. Here visitors will find the Race Village, a real headquarters equipped with a stage, big screens, commercial and exhibition booths.

The theme of this sixth edition, „Youth, Sea and Future – Italy’s Country Value,” focuses not only on the competitiveness of the regattas, but also on the culture of the sea, sustainability and the enhancement of local excellence . At the village (with free admission) the public will be able to:

  • Meet international crews up close.

  • Participate in educational and recreational activities dedicated to youth and related to navigation.

  • Attend performances, live music and cultural highlights.

Local synergy and land development

The Elban leg of the Pink Ribbon Tour is the result of an important institutional and economic synergy, supported equally by the Municipality of Portoferraio and the Tuscan Archipelago National Park (PNAT).

A crucial operational role is entrusted to ASSOCOM ELBA, which takes care of practical logistics (agreements with hotels, restaurants and ferries) and acts as a link between the various actors. Thanks to this collaboration, special sales stands will be set up inside the Race Village with Elban producers, ready to showcase the best of typical agribusiness and local artistic and fashion manufactures. In addition, the territory will be narrated worldwide through dedicated videos, interviews and targeted animation.

At sea, technical support on the race courses will be provided by the experience of the Naval League, while the schedule of collateral events ashore (also including an evocative and exclusive Gala Dinner with catering) will be financed by a network of local sponsors, including entities such as Castagneto Banca 1921 and Blu Navy.
