Since July 2021 Air Astana is offering new culinary delights to passengers flying from Frankfurt. The multi-award-winning Kazakh carrier is one of the first airlines to work with Flight Delight Air Catering, which began operations at Frankfurt and Munich airports this summer.
“In spite of the challenges of the pandemic, we continue to deliver significant product upgrades across the network including the introduction of our beautiful 321LR aircraft on this route. Our onboard catering offering is considered a vital element of the overall passenger experience so we are very pleased about the new partnership with Flight Delight Air Catering, who have an outstanding reputation for high quality catering,” said Margaret Phelan, Vice President Inflight Services at Air Astana.
Flight Delight Air Catering is a new company, but it is steeped in tradition with an international team of specialists from Käfer Group in Munich that bring more than 50 years of catering experience. In addition, the French out-of-home food service specialist Newrest has held a 60 percent stake since October and contributes the network and logistics expertise of a global player. Specialised on high quality in-flight meal service, Flight Delight Air Catering works closely with nutrition specialists, food trend scouts, health specialists and local produce suppliers. For in-flight meal service for flights from Frankfurt Airport, Flight Delight Air Catering operates a 3,600 square-meter kitchen in Kelsterbach, just 3.5 kilometres from the airport.
„Our claim is to serve passengers truly fresh cuisine perfectly prepared from the best ingredients and attractively presented. All food concepts are adapted to the individual needs of our airline partners and their customers,” mentioned Alexej Oberoi, Managing Partner at Flight Delight Air Catering.
The company’s focus on excellence and sustainability along with creative, new ideas fits perfectly with Air Astana’s philosophy. The menu in Economy and Business Class will be changed four times a year, so that passengers can always look forward to new, freshly prepared delights.
